ICC was founded in 1919 by a group of international business leaders.
Through the years, ICC has continued to promote the free flow of cross-border Trade and Investment, and now represents – directly and through its member chambers – several million commercial enterprises in over 140 countries.
The Australian affiliate, ICC Australia, was the eleventh national committee of ICC to be founded – in 1927.
The world economic climate index, compiled by ICC and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research, has dropped for the fifth consecutive quarter in a row, hitting its lowest level since 1988.
ICC International Court of Arbitration opens first Asia office in Hong Kong Hong Kong, 19 November 2008
The International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Secretariat of the ICC Court have opened an Asia office of the ICC Court’s Secretariat in Hong Kong. The office is the ICC Court Secretariat’s first branch outside Paris and has a case management team to administer cases in the region under the ICC Rules of Arbitration.

ICC Commission on Banking discusses trade finance problems at WTO Paris, 17 November 2008
Members of the ICC Commission on Banking Technique and Practice and representatives from international financial institutions, private banks, and other experts met at the WTO last week to analyze the shortage of trade finance and discuss possible measures to address the problem.
ICC expands online trade training suite Paris, 14 November 2008
ICC has expanded its online trade training services with the launch of DC-Master. This new online training service, developed with technology partner Coastline Solutions, is aimed at experienced documentary credit professionals who wish to augment their knowledge in key areas of documentary credit work.
